Woah... we had an awesome DTB Screening Party... + Jo's & Sarah's Bday!

We couldnt stop talking all night long... We watched DB together and had a laugh on it and rounds of applauses.. It was so much fun wathing it with the cast , just wish that they who didnt make it was there, then it would be perfect. =p..

We celebrated Jo's bday and Sarah's bday.. We had a blue cream cake and colourful jelly.. And tons of food. QAASIM took pix but MAE left us.... =S.. We recorded this weird dance video , where we sat on the chair and only moved our hands....

Then we planned on a sleepover, it was so unexpected asked permission from our parents and we had a sleep over at Alia's place. We had to onvince Siti's dad and this is how it went

Inka, Alia, Alesia : Uncle!!

Unc.Rahim : Yes.. (trying to get away from our shield)

Inka, Alia, Alesia : We wont allow you to cross unless you say yes...

Unc.Rahim : YES..

Inka Alia Alesia : Yeah Thank You Uncle.!!!

Unc.Rahim : What did i say yes to..

Inka Alia Alesia : You just gave us permission to Siti to have a sleepover at Alia's house...

Unc Rahim : That's not fair...

Inka Alia Alesia : *big grin*

Unc.Rahim : They asked me to say yes before asking me to allow Siti to sleepover at Alia's

A.Farah : I would allow my kids to have sleepover whenever they want to..

Unc Rahim : *said something to Siti * *Siti started jumping around*


You would have to admit we were smart... hahaha!!!!!
We crashed into Alia's parent car there was 5 of us in the back seat and Auntie and Uncle in the front.. I got dropped of at home, Alesia followed me . Showred bought junk ... went over to Alia's... and we could here them from downstairs , apparently SUSU had arrived.
We all changed and coiencidently Siti was all yellow, Alesia was all green, Alia was all blue and i was all red.. while Su was spongebob.. wakakaka...!

We couldnt stop talking and laughing and talking and laughing , we were a tad bit tooo loud for everyone.. We went down to watch a movie , the disc went into the player and we talked even more till everyone got iritated with the depressing music it had on. Alia was eating McD while everyone was talking then her brother Lan came down and stole her food while Alesia blabed the fact that Siti and i have a crush on him and that Alia would like to marry someone like him , he didnt pay attention as he was gobling food.. hahaha

We went up stairs around 3am and went on fb , then we all decided to have facial. It was so silly our faces turn hard with the firming clay mask. We couldnt stop laughing once it hurted out faces.. Eventually we all fell asleep around 5 then around 7 alarms stared going off and i woke up looked around to notice everyone dead on the bed.. Shutted my eyes and woke up to another set of alarm..

Then i sat on the bed for a bit till Alia's mom entered and asked me why was i awake , helped us switch the aircon on and left the room. Finally everyone woke up at 8.45am.
We showered had an awesome breakkie which consisted of chocolate hot fudge Pop Tart adn chips then we watched IN AMERICA, i fell asleep halfway thru, i watched the movie before.... They all liked the movie and i wa happy. We an awesome lunch as well... Alia's mom made fried chicken and this other chicken dish and vegies and some salted fish curry... It was so nice..!

Went to Alia's room and i curled Alia's hair , Siti's hair and Alesia's hair. It was so fun and it looked so cute.! Then Alesia had to go soon after Siti and i left then Su left...

We had so much fun doing nothing but talk!!!

Thank You Alia and her fam for allowing us to crash over!!!!!!!

Youngsters and grown-ups danced and sang through adapted versions of 16 Broadway musicals in Dansing Thru Broadway (Season 2), all for a good cause. JOHN TIONG was entranced.

THE English was crisp, clear and exuded a pristine quality. Though many of the cast were barely in their teens, the children among them showed how, with proper guidance and hard work, success could be achieved.

The 42-strong cast had just staged Dansing Thru Broadway (Season 2) a fundraiser organised by Petronita for the National Kidney Foundation, Prince Court Eye Medical Centre and Mercy Malaysia’s relief work for Gaza, at Auditorium Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. It raised RM1.2 million for the charities recently.

The mimed singing and varied dancing styles were in no way five-star but they were of a standard you could be proud of, especially considering that the cast largely comprised primary and secondary school students.

They were completely at ease and scintillating in their respective roles, whether as rugged cowboys in tasselled apparel, sophisticated women in Victorian costumes, or Oriental maidens from Miss Saigon.
In fact, the main theme of the some 16 Broadway musical segments culled from famous musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Oklahoma! was the way one has to cultivate savoir faire in confidence, and the knowledge of what to wear to bring out one’s own charms.

The show started with down-and-out graduate Karim (Radhi Khalid) trying to pin down a job as assistant to musical producer Grey (Brian MacIntyre).

He looked shabby in torn jeans and a stunned Grey gets the show going, advising him to dress up properly if he wants to get on in life.

On Put On Your Sunday Clothes and Elegance (from Hello, Dolly!), shop assistants Cornelius and Barnaby won the hearts of their fancies by

presenting themselves as smart millionaires.

The whole musical became Grey’s tool to help Karim overcome his predicament in understanding Broadway, and later, winning the job he was after.

Karim soon learns that, a stage performance is just another business, and that without money rolling in, nothing can function, as was portrayed in Newsies’ Carrying The Banner in which children demand more money for their work.

The beauty of the Karim and Grey story is that they injected local flavour into their presentation.

London streets from Oliver turned into Chow Kit Road, and Kenny Hills became the place where the rich and famous lived.

The musical Puteri Gunung Ledang and P. Ramlee were also mentioned to draw parallels with musicals written about legendary figures.

One of the most thrilling parts of the show was in the song I Hope I Get It In by an effeminate interviewer auditioning candidates for a stage production.

The English here was spoken with a Malaysian flavour and the dancing resembled aerobics with the cast going wild in front of a large mirror, and everyone excited and waiting to be chosen.

Dansing Thru Broadway was choreographed by Farah Datuk Seri Sulaiman of the Sayang Dancers and directed by Sabrina Hassan. The music arranger was Helen Yap and the vocal trainer, Malaysian tenor Peter Ong.

Petronita is the association of wives and female employees of Petronas.

SHE had a vision — to bring Broadway to the Malaysian stage. Dancer-choreographer Farah Sulaiman did that in June last year, and is restaging her dream , DanSing Thru Broadway, this week.

“I like the songs of the ‘70s and ‘80s, but Broadway has countless of classics. The show is staged with a Malaysian feel,” said Farah in a recent interview.

The musical is about a no-nonsense graduate, Karim, who seeks a job in the theatre industry.

“He has no background in the arts. But he is keen to work in the industry under the guidance of Grey, a theatre producer.

“Slowly, Karim finds that every single element in his life is connected to music,” explains Farah.
In putting the script together, Farah says she was ably helped by her niece, dancer-actress Sabrina Hassan.

“We have incorporated local elements such as the Malay language into the work. We just want to make Broadway more appealing to the public. People always shy away from English productions in Malaysia,” says Sabrina who recently acted in the film, Maut .

DanSing Thru Broadway has scenes from Hello Dolly, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, Grease and Phantom Of The Opera .

The cast comprises dance instructor and opera singer Peter Ong, actor Radhi Khalid, Audition 1 winner Tria, rapper and actor Reefa, Ho Soon Yoon, Nicole-Anne Thomas, and Keith Yew.

What excites both aunt and niece is the participation of 20 young entertainers ranging from eight to 17 years.

“They are fresh and talented,” says Farah.

Farah, who used to have a ballet school called Sayang Academy of Dancing, says she admires the passion of the children who came for her auditions.

“Most of the children have zero knowledge in the performing arts but they were passionate about seeking the knowledge and gave the audition their best.

“We came across a boy with an exceptional vocal talent but he was stiff when it came to dancing. After staging the first production, he finally found his groove,” adds Sabrina.

The 20 young actors are a dedicated lot.

“They would train at least seven hours a week without hesitation or complaint. It was all smiles despite being tired,” says Farah.

Petronita, the association for the wives of Petronas staff and female employees, is the official organiser of the Broadway-inspired musical.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to The Children Dialysis Fund of the National Kidney Foundation, The Children’s Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate Corrective Surgery Community Project and The Musculo Skeletal Cancer Treatment Regional Centre.

Thank You For The Music

i woke up it was 7 i waited till 11 just to figure out that no one would call.

Ok i didn't really woke up at 7 but i woke up at 9... I got ready for the cast party!!!!!

I was sooo excited.. Was suppose to meet up with Mae, Siti and Alesia at 2 but dad wouldn't leave early so i only arrived around 3 plus *we could have reached earlier but i was driving , well my dad wouldn't allow me to speed*.. I saw the 3 of em at Modestos... Haha..! They looks so cute.! I love em... We were making our banner's for Qistina & Reefa when we saw Kelvin and we couldn't help but SCREAM!!!.. Yeah and So Kelvin came in with Vernon and one of their friend Penn . They came in a bullied us... We had an awesome time screaming and fussing around at Modestos... Then we realized it was already 4.25pm ... *arrrrghhhhh* So we immediately left to Duta Nusantara's Club House... *we knew that there was gonna be another party at the same place so our whole intention was to make our party louder and obviously we did cause it was a lil girls party , which all the grown up were stuck in a room watching Tom & Jerry*

We had our food as soon as we arrived.. There was Kwey Teow, Mee Curry, Fried Chicken, Sausages and Ice Kacang... but once we were done eating there was Baked Potatoes and Lamb, so Siti attacked it and i waited to be fed.. lol Then we were in the toilet... And out of no where Siti decides to JUMP i mean just jump, she wouldn't stop doing it for some reason... she was so random yet yeah... weird but i am going to miss the bloody creature a lot...!!! She is my bloody creature so stay away.... Then Siti & Alesia decided to jump in the pool while i took random pictures... All by a sudden a group of boys started to surround Mae so Mae decided to hide behind me i tried to protect her*Mae i honestly did try but i failed miserably* but well i failed...

They even threw Alia into the pool and she was a genius as she didn't bring her clothes! But i had extra and i made sure she knew .. She was literally flewed into the pool!!! Next was mua.... lol keith grabbed hold of me and my camera, so i willingly gave my phone or i would have died... But once i was thrown in to the pool i realized that my usb was in the pocket.. I scrambled trying to remove my skirt like a mad person and i did with Kelvin calling me fat! gahhhhh how much i hate him yet cant help but adore him ... I was so scared cause the usb doesn't belong to me but my brother... so i left it in my bag not wanting to think of it..

We had a cake cutting ceremony for Reefa, Qistina, Aila and Deanna. Then we all hugged the Sexy Sweet Sixteen year old!!! our very own QISTINA... YEAH we do love this sexy creature!!!!
And we all went into the pool again... We were soon entertained by They Boys and Men's with I enjoy Being A Girl and Nowadays .. then we had a parody of Kansas City as Broadback Mountain

But after awhile we got a bit hungry so we whacked on the food again.. While i had a phone call to attend to i had food pouring in my mouth with my legs soaked in the pool. After i hung up i had a session of opinion from the cast.. And i really thank them for it , Then Natasha said "

Look join Auntie Farah she is dancing

" and we all practically ran there... We couldn't stop dancing i have tons of pictures and videos but its all on facebook..*i had fun doing that spinney thingy with Kelvin haha*

Then one by one started heading home then the party sorta died and we received our money's took tons of two by two pix and also SIAAM pix..... Soon we all finished almost cried and cried and left home

A bitter sweet ending yet a very new beginning of our weekends...

yeah it's over....

DanSing Thru Broadway has ended .. Yes i know its late... The show ended on Sunday but i am only posting this today......

We started out performance on Thursday 19th February 2009 and ended on the 22nd February 2009.. We started out with a bang and ended with a humongous bang!!!!

How i miss it already.. The people you are surrounded with are practically family . You feel like in your own home. I watch them prance around.. *whispering talking screaming singing dancing walking running*

How i wish for it to be forever.. Gossipping forever with everyone about the silliest things. Ah, how the world seems to not spin when we are trapped in a room. How i love imagining of the things that go through each and everyone head. Nothing ever makes sense when i analyze.

How many suffers from heart ache?

How many tends to listen ?

How many tends to speak ?

How many are there ?

How many are lost ?

How many came ?

I feel so clueless, I feel so helpless. Now all there is left is to look forward to empty weekend's to fill up my day.

I am truly missing each and everyone of you cast and crew member's of DanSing Thru Broadway, may you be big small tiny shy proud diva'd or whatever , i still care i do miss you ... I hope that each of you can forgive me for all that has happened may it be what i said or done... And Thank You for allowing me to make my mistakes and recover from it...
